What to expect
You do not need to be a Sikh to visit, and you do not need to book. Come in, sit with the Sangat, and stay for as long or as little as you like.
- Cover your head. Everyone, of any faith, covers their head in the Darbar Hall. A scarf or a bandana is fine. If you do not have one, ask at the entrance.
- Remove your shoes. Shoes are left at the entrance, and hands are washed before going in.
- Dress modestly. Covered shoulders and knees are appreciated.
- No tobacco, alcohol or drugs anywhere on the premises.
- In the Darbar Hall people walk up to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, bow, and sit on the floor with the Sangat. Men and women usually sit on separate sides. Sit with your feet pointing away from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and feel free to listen for as long as you like.
- Langar is the free vegetarian meal served to everyone who comes, prepared and served by volunteers. Everyone eats together, sitting in rows, as a sign that all are equal. You are welcome to join.

Groups, schools and open days
Schools are welcome for a guided tour, a workshop and Langar: see school visits. Other groups, including interfaith and community groups, can arrange a visit by emailing ravi.kaur@khalsajatha.com. On open days we open our doors to the wider community for tours, workshops and a meal; advance registration is not required, but groups are asked to let us know they are coming.
